PDEstimates — Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

Account information: email address, password (encrypted), business name, region.
Project data: job descriptions, generated estimates, saved materials/labour library entries, client names and contact details you enter for a quote.
Site photos: images you upload when generating an estimate. These may incidentally contain identifiable details of a property or people present at the time the photo was taken.
Billing information: handled entirely by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number — only a subscription status and Stripe's internal customer reference.
Usage data: basic technical logs (e.g. sign-in activity, generation counts) needed to operate and secure the Service.

2. How we use it

To generate your estimates, we send your job description, region, and any photos to Anthropic's AI service to produce the estimate content.
To operate your account and store your data, we use Supabase (database, authentication, file storage).
To process payments, we use Stripe.
To send account and transactional emails (confirmation, billing receipts), we use Resend.
To host and serve the application, we use Cloudflare.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your project data or photos to train AI models beyond what's needed to generate your own estimate in the moment you request it.

3. Third-party service providers

Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy and security terms; we selected providers that maintain industry-standard security practices.

4. Data retention

We retain your account and project data for as long as your account is active. If you delete a saved project, it's removed from your active data. If you close your account, contact us and we will delete your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain records (e.g. billing records) for legal or accounting purposes.

5. Your rights

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate information
Withdraw consent for us to use your information (which may limit your ability to use the Service)
File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you believe we've mishandled your information

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted password storage, and access controls on our database. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to or stored by the Service.

7. Cookies

We use only the minimal cookies/local storage needed to keep you signed in and remember your preferences (like your preferred currency). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Children's privacy

The Service is intended for business use by contractors and is not directed at, or intended for use by, children under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
